(Me up at does) by e.e. cummings

Oh you look so nice tonight. But but but in a world of buts, you are still, and always will be, not for me.

(Me up at does)
e.e. cummings

Me up at does

out of the floor
quietly Stare

a poisoned mouse

still who alive

is asking What
have i done that

You wouldn’t have

  1. I learned about this poem during my final year at the university, and it has changed me since then. I really admire his attempt to break free from conventions and routines, and it is pathetic that humans think very highly of ourselves. Solely my kind of interpretation.
