i like my body when it is with your by e.e. cummings

What you do to me. Wanting me to take you. My fingers in your hair. The things you say: Oh, I do desire you, baby, I do. Suddenly my world is alright again.

i like my body when it is with your
e.e. cummings

i like my body when it is with your
body. It is so quite new a thing.
Muscles better and nerves more.
i like your body. i like what it does,
i like its hows. i like to feel the spine
of your body and its bones, and the trembling
-firm-smooth ness and which i will
again and again and again
kiss, i like kissing this and that of you,
i like, slowly stroking the, shocking fuzz
of your electric fur, and what-is-it comes
over parting flesh … And eyes big love-crumbs,

and possibly i like the thrill

of under me you so quite new

  1. I am widowed. I am 76. This poem brought back such memories. It is the loss of touch that I miss so much and can never get used to it. I cried

  2. wow.. I dont comment a lot but i like this poem, especially the lines that E.E Cummings wrote that seems so simple yet very beautiful and imaginable .Hoping that i can give this poem to my future wife.

  3. Love this poem! I hadn’t read it before. I’m a fan of ee cummings, and this is clearly his style but the content is unlike the other things I’ve read of his. I re-wrote it on paper and gave it to my wife and she read it in private and still blushed.

  4. I don’t comment a lot, but I venture here every day. I look forward to it, much like one looks forward to having coffee with an old friend. I find such comfort within these virtual pages, and I long to tell everyone about this- about you and what you do. But, the part of me that desires to keep you a secret, to keep this place of woven words a space only for myself, well- that part of me always wins. This poem is amazing. Sultry and sexy without being pornographic. Thanks for sharing.
